Trip to Cali
Vim and I got away for a much needed and wonderful 4 day vacation to Napa and San Fran. We went with our good friends Anne and Jordan for a surprise 30th birthday trip for Anne. Napa was beautiful and the house we rented was fabulous. It sat on the top of a hill over looking Napa Country club on one side and a vineyard on another. Both nights we hiked up to the top of the hill and enjoyed the beautiful sunset with a glass of wine. I had no idea how many wineries were in Napa...there are over 400! We were only able to visit 5 of the 400 wineries, but the Castello Di Amorosa, was one of our favorites.
(Isn't he a stud!)
(these cows in the field around the house we stayed at just came right up to us! I know we didn't go all the way to Napa to see cows but it was entertaining to say the least!)
We then headed out for a scenic drive to the mouth of the Russian River and then travel down I-1 to Muir Woods for a hike. The trees were huge, the mountains were breath taking, the skies were like a painting...Ok so I am not much of a writer but do you get the point?? The scenery was amazing! I just don't know how anyone can see such beauty and deny there is a God. Finally we made it to San Fran, and paid the $8 to drive across the Golden Gate bridge...but unfortunately it was so foggy we couldn't even see the bridge as we drove across. Oh well-- Some of the high lights in San Fran were the Sea Lions, Clam Chowder, Haight-Ashbury, and my most favorite, Alcatraz. Here are just a few of our pictures...if you want to see more, check out Our Pictures.
