First Day of Kindergarten

Well, the day finally came when my baby headed off to Kindergarten. I remember making my post this time last year, speculating on how 'This Day...' would be for me. And just about all I said was true. Minus the fact that I didn't get to hold his hand since he insisted on riding his bike. I told him that I would try not to cry in front of him, and I kept my promise. The moments that I had to hold back the strongest were when I asked him to hug me good bye outside the door of the school...he kissed me, hugged me and then kissed and rubbed my belly to tell the baby good bye...oh how hard it was not to let the tears start flowing. He was so grown up, not a fear in the world, he needed no direction on where to go or what to do. He walked in to the school very confidently, found his seat, and sat down like a pro. I kept the good bye very short, I don't even think I went in the class room, just poked my head in, waved and left. I didn't want to be one of those parents who were swarming the class, intruding on the teacher's territory...God Bless those teachers...they sure put up with a lot from us parents. Vim snapped a couple of shots of him walking in, I was trying my hardest to hold it together and couldn't man the camera.
My good friend Jill was so very awesome. Knowing it would be a sad day for me, she took me out to lunch so I didn't have to sit at home in a funk. She also gave me a little book, that I think every mother should own....called "Let Me Hold You Longer"....its a great book that every mom should own. Last night, I made us all sit down at bed time and read it. I grabbed my tissue, and had Vim read it out loud to us. During the story, William said 'Mommy, you can still hold me.' which just caused more tears.
So, you might be wondering how his day went and what he thought about kindergarten?? I picked William up at the bike racks, his first words were 'I LOVED IT!!' He said he saw a few of his friends from Pre-K and that it was better than his old school. And to top it off, when we got back to the house, we sat on the couch for a good 10 mins, and I got to hold him while he told me all about his day...

Celebration Part 2

This past weekend my husband continued on with my week long birthday celebration and we had several good friends down to our river house for festivities. Our age definetly showed this weekend, on Friday night we were all in bed by 11:30 and on Saturday night, the girls went to bed around 12 and the guys weren't too far behind, coming to bed at 1am. Overall the weekend was very relaxing the enjoyable. The girls had breakfast cooked for them on Saturday morning by the men, and then we were off to town to get pedi/manis. Tons of snacking went on...but that is to be expected with 3 pregnant ladies. Thanks everyone who came out to celebrate, I hope you had as good of a time as I did!

A major highlight of the weekend was that Little Man got up on his wake board for the first time! I am so proud of him, Vim expects he will be doing flips next summer...I think he might be expecting a little too much but hey, its a goal!

The Bestest Celebration

Yesterday was my birthday and a day full of celebration. It started out with a family breakfast at Denny's (because breakfast is my favorite meal to eat out), and then my hubby brought me Pei Wei for lunch (Mongolian Beef, fried rice and crab puffs-- yum yum!). I recieved flowers in the mail from my dad, and on Monday my mom and I spent the whole day shopping...and I got some new Maternity clothes (yippee!! If your going to be big, might as well be stylish). So I guess technically it is kind of like a birthday week (which is the best way to go)!

For dinner we had a nice family dinner out to the Aquarium downtown. We didn't tell Little Man where we were going, we only told him that we were going out to celebrate my birthday and his last week of Pre-K (yes very sad-- don't remind me). He looooved all the fish and the restaurant. I had been before but never been inside to eat. It was a great atmosphere. I loved getting to sit down with my whole family and enjoy a nice, fun meal. Honestly, I didn't expect the food to be great, since usually at 'theme' restaurants you are paying for the atmosphere and not the food. But I will say that it was better then what I expected. And I would soooo go back for the dessert! It was really good! When you cut into the cake, it oozed chocolate fudge like a volcano. While we were eating it, Little Man pronounced this was the bestest celebration ever! I would have to agree. It was a perfect birthday, quality time spent with the two most important men in my life. Thank you boys for making it so special.

'Hey little fellow, whats your name?'

The amazing dessert!

Rumors!? Secrets!?

Yes yes, the rumors are true! We are expecting! I am 11 weeks and due March 1, 2009. Surprisingly, I have only had some nausea and the 'throw-up fairy' has not visited me. Which is great, since I was sick the first 4 months with William. Of course I have been pretty exhausted and I would have thought I had mono if I didn't know I was pregnant. Eating has been a chore, my appetite has gone down, and I can only eat small portions at a sitting. But I have to eat just about every 2 hrs or I get a huge headache. Needless to say I am tired of eating.

No real noticeable bump yet. I just feel fat and bloated. William is very excited of course, and is kind of obsessed with tummies right now. He will rub on just about any ones belly (male or female) so don't be alarmed if he does it to you! He says he would like to have a brother so he could help him beat up Vim with wrestling, but he also thinks it would be a good idea to have a sister so that Mom had someone to hang out with during 'boy time'. Just to clarify we are not having twins. Next week we go in and should be able to hear the heart beat.

Dad is of course also ecstatic. He really has been a prince in understanding how tired I am...he comes home just about every night from work, does the dishes, plays with William, bathes him, and gets him to bed. He really is trying to make life easier for me right now. He has been so patient with me over the last few weeks...thank you love!!

I will of course keep you posted on all the baby news. Here is our ultra sound at 9 weeks. The baby is laying side ways, the head is on the right, and the feet are on the left.

Surfin' USA

We have so many things going on right now...I have a ton of blog posts I want to make but not a ton of time. Soooo, here it goes...

This past weekend we went to Austin for our dear friends, Jordan and Anne, couples baby shower. While we were there, we spent some time out on Lake Austin because if you know anything about Anne and Jordan (or even my husband and I) we are all water rats. We spend most weekends and any free time on the water, wake boarding, surfing and swimming during the summer. Before going, we decided it was time that Little Man got his own wake board. He tried several times to get up but has not mastered it yet. I am very confident though that in the very near future I will blogging about him wake boarding.

Anywayyyy, so a few years ago we got Little Man out on the surf board with Vim. And Little Man decided that it was time to get out there again. He wake surfed with Vim and with Jordan and had a great time.
