Every year we are invited by close friends of the Head Family to property on the Frio River for 4th of July. I was slightly concerned about this year...being 6 months pregnant and having a 16 month old running round...camping in the heat just wasn't sounding real appealing. Well, God had mercy on me and as many of you in the south know, we had a tropical depression/storm bring tons of rain in and some cooler weather. Although it rained on and off while we were there, I think it would have been much worse if it had been 100 degrees and no rain.
I did go prepared though and we took our rain boots.
And as you can see my sons didn't want to stay out of the rain and mud...they wanted to play in it.
You can see in this picture that Vimmer has lost his boots and is in his pajama bottoms and socks. Needless to say, we threw the socks away. No amount of bleach would have got those babies clean.
Fun in the river.
Vimmer loved to ride/drive the mule.
On Saturday, we put together a float and join the Leakey 4th of July parade.
Enjoying some fireworks...Fletcher is not a fan of the fireworks so he stays close by when they start going off. Hope everyone had a Happy 4th of July!
